One of the most famous students of Takeda was Morihei Ueshiba - founder of the Aikidō - who became the teacher of Takuma Hisa, after whom the Takumakai was named about 40 years ago. This lead to the registration of the group at the Nihon Kobudō Kyōkai and increased its popularity.
